General

Oolvay (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our websites, use our applications, and access our related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect both personal and non-personal information from you when you use the Service. This may include:

  • Personal Information: Such as your name, email address, and account details when you register, subscribe, or communicate with us.
  • Payment Information: We use third-party payment processors (such as Stripe, Lemon Squeezy, or Razorpay) to process payments securely. Your payment information is processed directly by them in accordance with their respective privacy policies. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.
  • Usage Data: Such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, and other diagnostic data.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: To improve your experience and analyze traffic patterns. Where required by law, we obtain your consent before setting non-essential cookies. To learn more, see our Cookie Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Improve and personalize your user experience.
  • Process transactions and manage your account.
  • Communicate with you regarding updates, support, or promotional messages (only if you opt in).
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data only with:

  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors assisting in operating the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, database providers, and payment gateways).
  • Legal Authorities: If required by law or in response to valid legal processes.
  • Business Transfers: Successors or assigns, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

All third-party partners are required to handle your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Error Tracking and Performance Monitoring

To ensure the stability and reliability of Oolvay, we use third-party error-tracking software (such as Sentry). When an error occurs while using our Service, this software automatically collects diagnostic data to help our engineering team identify and fix the issue.

This data may include your device type, operating system version, browser information, IP address, and the specific actions that led to the crash. This data is strictly used for debugging and improving the Service and is not used for marketing purposes.

Data Portability and Export

In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 20 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to data portability. This means you can request and receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

How to Export Your Data: We provide a convenient data export feature that allows you to download your personal information.

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Navigate to your Account Settings.
  3. Select “Export My Data.” Your data will be prepared and made available as a downloadable ZIP file containing JSON formatted records.

Data Security and Retention

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting requirements. When personal data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

Children’s Privacy

While Oolvay provides tools that can be used to build a variety of applications, our boilerplate Service is primarily intended for general audiences and developers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions) without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected such information without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.

International Compliance

We strive to comply with applicable data protection laws globally, including:

  • United States: The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • European Union: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and GDPR-K.
  • India: The Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Depending on your location, you have the right to know what personal data we collect, request correction or erasure of inaccurate data, withdraw consent, and file grievances.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
